District line station (zone 2) beneath the Fulham Broadway shopping centre and the busiest in Fulham, taking the full weight of Stamford Bridge on Chelsea match days. It opened in 1880 as Walham Green — the name lasted until 1952 — and the handsome 1905 former entrance on Fulham Road is Grade II listed.
Avoid it entirely around Chelsea kick-off — the queues are their own fixture. West Brompton is often the faster escape.
