Hidden-Gem Restaurants in Fulham

Every Fulham restaurant guide lists the obvious names. Pure Indian Cooking

The local tip: Some of the best Indian food in SW6. The lamb rogan josh is superb

Run by a husband-and-wife team with Michelin-starred pedigree, chef Shilpa trained under Raymond Blanc and at Quilon. Modern Indian fine dining in an intimate room on Fulham High Street. The dal makhani and Mangalorean chicken curry are standouts. Punches well above its weight.

No. 2Abugida

Abugida

The local tip: Excellent Ethiopian -- the veggie combo platter is generous and flavourful

Authentic Ethiopian near Fulham Broadway. Communal platters of injera topped with rich stews. Order the Abugida Special if you want the clearest read on the kitchen. Traditional coffee ceremony, intimate atmosphere, and a genuine cultural experience rather than just a meal out.

No. 3Bellillo

Bellillo

The local tip: Start with the calamari fritti or the parmigiana — the starters are half the point before the margherita even lands.

The most authentically Neapolitan pizza in Fulham, tucked away on Munster Road since late 2015. Co-founder and pizza chef Francesco Vigna is signed up to the Slow Food movement and rigorous about provenance — san marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella and seasonal produce shipped direct from Italy, all put through the wood-fired oven at the room's heart. The margherita alone is worth the trip, though the fried starters make a strong case for arriving hungry.

No. 4Londöner by Best Mangal

Londöner by Best Mangal

The local tip: Sit in and order the İskender — veal döner over house lavash with tomato sauce and yoghurt. Add an ayran.

A wood-fired döner shop from the Best Mangal team on North End Road, and a deliberate step away from the late-night kebab-shop format. The focus is premium veal döner cooked in delicate layers over a wood fire, served on house-made lavash or fresh tombik buns, with an İskender option — tomato sauce and yoghurt — for those sitting in. Proper Turkish technique, baklava to finish, ayran to wash it down. Döner treated with the respect it rarely gets in London.

Love Falafel

The local tip: Best falafel wrap in Fulham, no contest. Get extra tahini

If you haven't discovered Love Falafel on North End Road yet, you're missing out on some of the best value food in Fulham. Everything is made fresh, the portions are generous, and the falafel wraps are genuinely some of the best in London. No frills, no pretension — just really excellent Middle Eastern food at prices that make you feel like you're cheating the system. The 4.9 rating on nearly every review platform is earned.

No. 6The Wei

The Wei

The local tip: Order the hand-ripped biang biang noodles with cumin lamb — Wei's signature.

From Guirong Wei — the chef who brought biang biang noodles to London and earned a Netflix Chef's Table episode — this North End Road spot cooks the fierce, vinegar-and-chilli food of Shaanxi province. Hand-pulled noodles slapped against the counter, cumin-heavy lamb, soup dumplings. The Infatuation scored it 8.3 and called it an instant Fulham favourite, and the queues agree.

How this list works

6 restaurants in Fulham currently carry the hidden gem tag because they hold up for this exact use. The ranking starts with places I would recommend, then uses reader agree/disagree signals to catch drift. No paid placement, no scraped star ratings, and no automatic ranking from review sites. If new details no longer match the tag, the listing is reviewed and can drop or leave the list.
